First America heads East

First America Bank, another Manatee startup that's building a new location, has sights set on expansion.

"We are exploring other locations," said Dan Hager, CEO and chairman of First America Bank. "And in pursuit of a site east of I-75."

The bank's current location, at 410 43rd St. W., will soon give way to a new branch being built at 2811 Manatee Ave. W., the site of a former dine-in Pizza Hut location. The branch is on target to be completed in April.

First America is opening another branch in three weeks at 1301 S. Tamiami Trail, which will be run by President Hank Goldsby.

First America, which had $7 million in deposits in July, now has $43.5 million in total assets, Hager said.
